Call For Papers
We invite researchers and practitioners to submit their original research and applications to the AID4RES Workshop co-located with the ADBIS 2023 conference. This workshop will bring together experts and practitioners to discuss the latest advances in Artificial Intelligence and Data Management applications for Renewable Energy Systems. We welcome contributions from diverse disciplines and perspectives. Submitted papers should present original, unpublished work or innovative applications.
In order to address the issues facing the RES sector, AI4RES23 is calling for paper submissions in any field connected to AI tools and applications. With reference to the RES sector, the workshop focuses on difficult and developing areas in data management, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques and applications.
The goal of the workshop is to give participants a thorough grasp of the various machine-learning methods and equipment that may be applied to the design, upkeep, and improvement of renewable energy systems. The workshop's main topic will be the most recent developments in machine learning and how they apply to renewable energy systems, giving attendees the chance to learn about the various models and how well they perform renewable energy systems.
We welcome submissions in the following areas:
- Data management and processing for RES (e.g. data lakes, time series management, data sharing and privacy, edge and cloud systems, challenges in data management etc.)
- Machine Learning Models and applications for data from Renewable Energy Sources
- Data mining and knowledge extraction for RES data
- Conceptual design and architecture for IT systems specialized in RES data management
- Industrial papers with experience and challenges in data management for RES
- Data intensive and AI applications for wind and solar park operation and optimization (AI-driven methods and tools for optimizing the positioning and orientation of photovoltaic cells for maximum efficiency, data management applications for analyzing the performance of wind turbines in real time etc)
- Visual Analytics and visual exploration tools for RES related data
- Standardization of RES data and applications
- Evaluation and surveys of tools for RES data management and RES AI applications
- Open, FAIR RES datasets and data generators
Submission Guidelines
AID4RES invites submissions of novel research, completed or in-progress work, vision, and system papers. The page limit for regular and short research papers is 12 and 6 pages, respectively. Additionally, we will welcome submission of work-in-progress as a short paper of up to 6 pages long. Papers of this type describe an ongoing work that has not yet reached the maturity required for a research paper. Further, we solicit vision papers (up to 6 pages) that describe a vision for the future. Finally, we accept system papers and demos up to 8 pages long.
Papers should be submitted in PDF format (LNCS style pages). Authors should consult Springer’s authors’ guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Submissions will be accepted only through the submission site EasyChair at https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=ai4res23.
Important Dates
- Paper submission deadline (extended): May 8, 2023
- Paper acceptance notification (extended) May 29, 2023
- Camera-ready due: July 3, 2023
- Workshop day: September 4, 2023
Diversity and Inclusion Statement
We kindly ask authors to adopt inclusive language in their papers and presentations (https://dbdni.github.io/pages/inclusivewriting.html and https://dbdni.github.io/pages/inclusivewriting.html), and all participants to adopt a proper code on conduct (https://dbdni.github.io/pages/codeofconduct.html).
Publication
The workshop papers will be published by Springer in Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS). The authors of selected workshop papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their contributions to the ComSIS Journal (Serbian Consortium, Journal with IF): http://comsis.org/)
